2013 Chevy Camaro 6T9 Trans Am

Expected to release as a production car in 2013, the 6t9, as it is called, will be the forth model in the licensed Trans Am line up offered by Trans Am Depot. The first model is based on the 1977 “Smokey and the Bandit” style that was released in December 2010. The Hurst Edition Trans Am was released in 2011, and the 6T9 Goat will be in production early in 2012.

This 6t9 concept Trans Am body has in excess of 1,200 hours of body fabrication, interior and performance upgrades. In the words of Kevin Morgan, ...“they literally built my rendering... unbelievable!” Trans Am Depot’s Mark Hunt took over performance upgrades with the addition of the LS7 and Hellion twin turbo system. Mark has over 35 years of experience in the performance industry and extensive time with NASCAR. Because of Mark’s knowledge and experience the engineering and execution of the performance upgrades were made easy. Things like the functional Ram Air induction or the dual tune (93 octane and 109 octane) were irresistible. A custom built Jet-Hot coated exhaust system was added as well.

New axles, drive shafts and a 9” IRS rear end from Hendrix Motorsports were topped off with 3.22 gears, compliments of a North Carolina based NASCAR team. The LS7 was custom built by Mast Motorsports of Nacogdoches, TX specifically for this application. ACT provided a T3SR-G01 clutch kit and T3 pressure plate as the best street-able combo for a 1,200rwhp application. Eibach Springs supplied the coil-over and sway-bar suspension to meet the 2” drop and added handling requirements. Chance Blevins, of Blevins upholstery in Brooksville, FL took the interior to a whole new level by crafting the exact pattern used in the original ’69 TA including the addition of the comfort weave seat inserts and old-school piping. An engineered sound system was installed adding a Pioneer DVD, Navigation Stereo Head Unit sporting a 6.1” screen, Alpine 6.5” door speakers and 5.25” rear speakers, both 140 watt RMS, an Alpine 10” 1,000 watt RMS sub-woofer with an Alpine mono block 1,000 RMS amp. Beryl wood interior accents surround the wide screen DVD stereo addition and add to the unmistakable ’69 throw-back feel. Ted Brock of High Springs, FL machined the two level billet sill plates and custom dash plaque. And if that’s not quite enough, to “top-off” the package, Drop Top Customs engineered the convertible top and a frame stabilizing system to handle the vicious torque produced by the twin turbo LS-7.
