The Details:
The new lifted truck market presents an incredible opportunity for dealers, courtesy of the OEM, and it's been around for over a decade now. However, one of the key challenges for dealers has been the turn time. To tackle this issue, I've developed a solution. With a potential market of over 3 million vehicles annually that can be classified as "new lifted" and consumers largely unaware of this segment, now is the perfect time to tap into a vast pool of eager buyers just waiting for the right offering.
We are a seller (distributor) of an OEM authorized truck upfitter with a bailment program (vehicles are shipped directly from the factory to the upfitter) for GM, Ford, RAM, and the Jeep Wrangler products. You order the upfitter package with us, and we add our marketing package price to the upfitters package price on the order form. It's one combined package cost to you. The upfitter pays us directly; we do not collect any money from dealers. The upfitters' packages can be paid for in cash or dealer floor plan credit. With bailment vehicles, you still receive OEM holdback $. GM dealers, a bailment vehicle counts as half a credit toward your allocation.
Incentives Work
A vendor reaches out during the final week of the month, and your immediate thought is that it's crunch time. I'm laser-focused on hitting my numbers to secure that OEM bonus. We’ve decided to outsource our marketing efforts to a company whose sole mission is to drive buyers for dealers across the entire US. They operate on a pay-per-vehicle basis, with the funds pooled together. Their goal is to maximize the buyer intake using that budget efficiently—the faster they do it, the more profit they reap.
This process repeats smoothly as we manage vehicle reorders. To tackle the dealer turnaround time, I've boosted their motivation with an additional bonus structure. The day those new lifted trucks arrive is counted as day one. If they sell within the first 30 days, they earn a substantial bonus per vehicle; if the sale occurs between days 31 and 60, that bonus gets cut in half. After 60 days, no bonus is given at all. My main aim is to ramp up volume and rapidly increase the new lifted truck sales for our dealers. Additionally, your sales team earns a $250 spiff for every truck they sell!
